Book Excerpt :

Activate your weight-loss autopilot—use the power of simple intermittent fasting to lose the pounds and keep them off, from Hollywood trainer and #1 New York Times bestselling author Jorge Cruise. Timing is everything when it comes to losing weight. Or, as celebrity trainer Jorge Cruise explains: When we eat is as important as what we eat. Building on the scientifically proven but hard-to-sustain day-on, day-off technique known as “intermittent fasting,” Cruise has developed a revolutionary masterplan that simplifies your calendar and eliminates between-meal hunger. He divides every day into two easy-to-remember nutritional zones: a 16-hour evening and overnight “burn zone” (semi-fasting) followed by an 8-hour “boost zone” (eating). Ingeniously, his plan also includes “bumper foods” that can be consumed in either zone—around the clock—to keep you satiated and burning fat throughout. You’ll never be hungry if you don’t really ever have to fully fast! Backed by the very latest research and client-tested for optimal results, The Cruise Control Diet unlocks the key to dramatic results with • recipes for deliciously unexpected boost zone foods, such as Portobello Mini Pizzas, Zoodle Spaghetti & Meatballs, Sheet Pan Salmon & Asparagus, and even Almond Butter Cookies • high-fat, no-sugar burn-zone recipes for craving-quenching foods like Double Chocolate Fudge Mousse and Vanilla Chai Tea Latte • weekly menus and handy grocery lists to take the guess work out of the equation • candid testimonials from Cruise’s clients and test-panel participants • an optional burn-zone exercise program with instructional photos With The Cruise Control Diet you’ll automate your diet and finally conquer weight loss forever! Featuring a foreword by Brooke Burke and an introduction by Jason Fung, M.D. Praise for Jorge Cruise “Jorge gets it right. His recipes make eating smart easy. I recommend them highly.”—Andrew Weil, M.D., #1 New York Times bestselling author of Why Our Health Matters “Jorge knows how to make weight loss simple and easy without feeling hungry.”—Tyra Banks, model, actress, CEO, and New York Times bestselling author “Recipes from my friend Jorge Cruise—where healthy food meets great flavor.”—Emeril Lagasse, chef, restaurateur, and New York Times bestselling author

Book Short Summary:

Finally—the ultimate diet for fast, safe weight loss, lifelong health, and longer life, based on more than twenty years of research and the latest findings on appetite and weight. Metabolic specialist Ron Rosedale, M.D., has designed the Rosedale Diet to regulate the powerful hormone leptin, which controls appetite and weight loss by telling the brain when to eat, how much to eat—and when to stop. New research shows that leptin may be one of the body's most important hunger control mechanisms. Control leptin, and you control your weight. Most people's leptin levels are out of control, causing them to overeat and to store fat rather than burn it. The only way to flip the "hunger switch" back to normal is through a diet high in healthy fats and low in carbohydrates, saturated fat, and trans-fatty acids often found in processed food—plus just 15 minutes of daily exercise. Dr. Rosedale's 21-day diet plan is simple: Just select from the many foods on his "A" list, including "healthy-fat" foods such as avocados, nuts, olives, lobster, crab, shrimp, goat cheese, Cornish game hen, venison, and more. Then gradually add foods from the "B" list, such as steak, lamb chops, fruits, beans, and so on. A 28-day menu plan and more than 100 recipes, such as Dilled Salmon and Fresh Asparagus, Gingery Chicken Soup, Lasagna, Black Bean Wrap, Raspberry Mousse Cake, and French Silk Pie, make eating the Rosedale way deliciously easy. Weight loss is just the beginning. The Rosedale Diet will make you feel satisfied, reduce cravings, and put you in control of your "sweet tooth." It can even help eliminate or reduce heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and other conditions associated with "natural" aging, as many of Dr. Rosedale's patients can attest. You'll find inspiring stories from them—and the power to control your weight and improve your health—in this groundbreaking book.

Book Short Summary:

We want to be healthy. We want to be lean. And we want to lose that annoying fat around our bellies! We can achieve ALL of these goals with The Lose Your Belly Diet. Based on exciting new research about the dramatic benefits of vibrant gut health and a diverse gut microbiome, this plan nurtures your gut while helping you burn off excess weight and harmful belly fat. This plan is built around a very clear, research-based concept: Eating food that nourishes and protects the microbes in your gut paves the way for weight loss, a slimmer middle, and better overall health. It’s not just about weight loss. Having great gut health is linked to good health throughout your body. Scientists in this rapidly growing field are finding connections between gut microbes and the immune system, weight loss, gastrointestinal health, , allergies, asthma, and even cancer. With every study that’s published, scientists become more convinced that having a healthy gut leads to having a healthy body. We’re accustomed to thinking of bacteria as bad—and some are—but most of the bacteria and microbes in our guts do amazing things, like working with our immune system to fight disease and helping our bodies digest food. Not only can’t we live without them, but as their numbers and diversity increase, so too does our health. In this book, we look at all of the ways you can improve your own gut health, starting with the food you eat. My diet recommendations, meal plans, and recipes will help feed and protect your gut microbes. Book Short Summary:

“A deep dive into the world of Flat Earth conspiracy theorists . . . that brilliantly reveals how people fall into illogical beliefs, reject reason, destroy relationships, and connect with a broad range of conspiracy theories in the social media age. Beautiful, probing, and often empathetic . . . An insightful, human look at what fuels conspiracy theories.” —Science Since 2015, there has been a spectacular boom in a centuries-old delusion: that the earth is flat. More and more people believe that we all live on a pancake-shaped planet, capped by a solid dome and ringed by an impossible wall of ice. How? Why? In Off the Edge, journalist Kelly Weill draws a direct line from today’s conspiratorial moment, brimming not just with Flat Earthers but also anti-vaxxers and QAnon followers, back to the early days of Flat Earth theory in the 1830s. We learn the natural impulses behind these beliefs: when faced with a complicated world out of our control, humans have always sought patterns to explain the inexplicable. This psychology doesn’t change. But with the dawn of the twenty-first century, something else has shifted. Powered by Facebook and YouTube algorithms, the Flat Earth movement is growing. At once a definitive history of the movement and an essential look at its unbelievable present, Off the Edge introduces us to a cast of larger-than-life characters. We meet historical figures like the nineteenth-century grifter who first popularized the theory, as well as the many modern-day Flat Earthers Weill herself gets to know, from moms on vacation to determined creationists to neo-Nazi rappers. We discover what, and who, converts people to Flat Earth belief, and what happens inside the rabbit hole. And we even meet a man determined to fly into space in a homemade rocket-powered balloon—whose tragic death is as senseless and absurd as the theory he sets out to prove. In this incisive and powerful story about belief, Kelly Weill explores how we arrived at this moment of polarized realities and explains what needs to happen so that we might all return to the same spinning globe.

Book Short Summary:

A fictional story of a formulae one driver who ended his career by doing "A Hangover Plus" in Vegas by successfully turning over a jewel store and a bank there. He escaped while wasted and ended in Florida , found a boat of his and sailed down to the Caribbean where he's been laying low for twenty years. During the Covid lockdown time his friend started on his memoirs as all bars and beaches were closed so little to do and places to go. His friend released the first volume online with immediate success, then they set sail to Columbia taking the view that even with the enormous sales of the memoirs he, the racing driver was more than likely going to get busted, and perhaps, similar to Hangover maybe, people would come looking for the loot he'd gone off with as it was a most likely a put up job, so a double whammy . This originally was going to be a novel but it's far more suited to a series as it presents lots of spice and glamour to exploit. As its evolving I'd imagine the possibility of over fifty instalments . I'm also doing "LIfe..........?, "which is now up to three parts and its also coming along but a lot more slowly as its difficult to write so limited in instalments , I'm thinking of eight, unless some flamboyant studio took it places, then its countless episodes .

Book Short Summary:

I became inspired to return to a healthy state after almost a decade of being nothing more than a slug having eclipsed the three hundred pound milestone. Everyone was all over my case; I was a walking time bomb. Ultimately, only I could make the decision to lose weight and once I did, everything else fell into place. The hardest thing was simply to make the COMMITMENT TO DO SO. I Stayed True to Three Unconventional Principals: I was going to Eat What I Liked I Wasnt going to Exercise I Wasnt going to Pay For Advice The little digital scale validated my efforts. Now everyone wants to know my secret formula, but only after witnessing the results, as I have managed to lose 80 Pounds in One Year! The word that best described what I did was to persevere. I felt like throwing in the towel a bunch of times, but I kept going forward and the diet became easier by the day. Dieting is a matter of being on a routine and chances are if you have read this far, yours is most likely unbalanced as mine was. Once you make up your mind, you too can do the same as I did, and lose the weight. I have taken the Yo out of Yo-Yo Dieting -- I continue to eat the foods I like, so there is no transitioning into anything.
